Estuarine Research Reserve

South Slough NERR is a 4,771 acre natural area on Oregon's South Coast, created in 1974 as the first of 26 National Estuarine Research Reserves dedicated to research, education and coastal stewardship.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a private, not-for-profit aquatic and marine science educational facility offering a fun and interesting way to learn about Oregon’s unique coastal ecosystem. The Aquarium is dedicated to teaching marine wildlife and ocean preservation through responsible management and exhibition of marine life.

The University of Oregon's - Oregon Institute of Marine Biology is located in Charleston, Oregon and provides undergraduate and graduate level courses as well as participating in public school education through the NSF sponsored GK-12 program.
